Edward George "Ted" Turner

Edward George Turner, known affectionately to his family and friends as Ted, was a kind hearted, gregarious, right jolly English gent, loved by all who knew him. He was born on the 27th of June 1911 at Blake Cottage, Horn Street in Winslow, Buckinghamshire, where his father was employed as head groom to Mr Gosling of Blake House.

    • it seems he lived all of his life in Whittlesey, and he was probably an agricultural laborer. For generations, the Moyses were farmers and laborers and probably struggled to provide food and shelter for their large families. Life was not easy in the English countryside during these times of poverty and the rampant spread of disease, and the Moyses family, like other Cambridgeshire poor, experienced a high rate of childhood mortality and few adults made it to old age. Although [person:first] himself lived a particularly long life, he outlived at least two wives and six of his children.
