Edward George "Ted" Turner

Edward George Turner, known affectionately to his family and friends as Ted, was a kind hearted, gregarious, right jolly English gent, loved by all who knew him. He was born on the 27th of June 1911 at Blake Cottage, Horn Street in Winslow, Buckinghamshire, where his father was employed as head groom to Mr Gosling of Blake House.

Miss Phyllis Mary Collins, daughter of William Collins, publican of the George Inn in Winslow, which is where Ted met her one fateful day in the 1930s

    • There were two cryptic entries next to each other in the register - a daughter born to William and Ann Chapman, and a daughter born to Robert and Sarah Chapman. Both names and day of the month are left blank, but both entries noted the birth date as the 25th. There is another entry below on the 1st of April for Sarah,m daughter of Robert and Sarah Chapman. I'm inclined to think that our Elizabeth is the daughter of William and Ann, but that's only supposition at this point.
