- In the name of God Amen I John Baker the Elder of Quainton in the County of Bucks carpenter being weak in body but of sound and perfect memory and understanding thanks be given unto God and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men ____ to die do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) Principally and first of all I resign my soul unto the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth in hopes of a blesed resurrection And unto my Wordly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say) Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my four Children namely - John Baker Ann the wife of Thomas Sare Elizabeth Warr Wid. and Sarah the wife of John Baily the sum of ten pounds apiece of lawfull money of Great Britain at six months next after my decease But in case it shall happen that any or Either of my said Children shall not live until their respective legacy becomes due and payable as abovesaid then in such case his her or their legacy (so dying as aforesaid) to go to the Child or Children respectively of the said legatee or legatees so dying within six months after my decease as aforesaid share and share alike I give and bequeath to my said son John Baker my brewing Copper Roasting Jack my bedstead whereon I usually lie with the Curtain rod belonging and Chest of Drawers in the same room I Give and bequeath unto my said daughter Ann Sare the feather bed bolster and pillow whereon I usually lie with the Curtains _______ basteshead? and Tester? belonging I Give to my said daughter Elizabeth Warr my flock bed one pair of sheets two blankets and the pewter dish marked TR.TV.MTEB. usually called her Christning dish I give to my said Daughter Sarah Baily my Dresser and Drawers with the Shelves thereunto belonging I Give and bequeath also unto my said son John Baker my best Coat Waist Coat and breeches and also my Great Coat I Give unto my son in law Thomas Sare my next best Coat Wastcoat and breeches I Give To my son in Law John Baily six of my strong Doules shirts one pair of my best stockins one pair of middling Ditto Five Hatts and two Wiggs I give my six Chairs in the Parlour equally between my three Children the said John Baker Ann Sare and Sarah Bailey I Give all my tubs Barrels Kevers Kettles and brass pots equally between all my said four Children I Give to my Grandson William Baker all my Working Tools in Trade and also my Watch And to my Grandaughter Ann Sare my Chest of Drawers in the Parlour I Give all my Timber, boards, Scanthings and stock in Trade to my Executors hereinafter named to sell the same and the Money arising therefrom to share equally between themselbes and my said other two Children All the rest and residue of my household goods and furniture goods and Chattels and personal estate of what nature or kind soever and heresoever I give and bequeath equally between my said son John Baker and daughter Ann Sare whom I likewise nominate constitute and appoint full and joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper In Witness whereof I have to each sheet set my hand and seal t he twenty seventh day of february in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred And seventy seven
